The 2016 schedule was released yesterday and actually is favorable. Gamecocks kick off the season at Vandy on Thursday, which they have become known for – being the CFB season starters. Getting Tennessee, Georgia, and A&M all at home is a plus; not to mention for the first time in a while the Gamecocks have a softer out of conference schedule picking up ECU (who will be down again) UMASS (basketball school) and Western Carolina ( no disrespect, really, should be a bye before heading to Clemson.). The games that are not the most favorable would be against likely SEC east Champs this year and next Florida down in the swamp, at Mississippi State – who lose their starting QB Dak Prescott and it should help to catch them early with the question mark at QB, and going up to Clemson who has been solid the last few years. If Shawn Elliot can get this turned around or whoever takes over next season – comes in and makes a fast start can certainly have a good season. Those are some big ifs.
